What is CNC milling?

CNC milling removes material from a stock blank with a rotating cutter. Axis motion comes from a toolpath, so repeat jobs can stay close to the same dimensions when the setup and tools stay the same.

It suits flats, pockets, slots, holes and many prismatic shapes. Aluminum 6061 is a common prototype choice. Stainless and harder steels simply take more time per cubic centimetre. That is a material property, not a claim about a specific machine in our shop.

Thin walls, deep pockets, sharp internal corners and unreachable faces are not automatic cheap jobs. eksenix.com does not present a number as exact in those cases; it asks for engineering review.

The time you see is not a stopwatch measurement. It is removal volume divided by the removal-rate assumption stored in the admin panel. Placeholder rates are labelled as such.
