Mold making and molding

A mould is the key to a surface you need more than once. We shape fiber, decorative, engineering and custom-part moulds around the job, not a catalogue claim.

Stage 1

Where we use molding

We use molding when a surface must repeat, or when fiber, resin or casting needs a controlled tool. These are the jobs that come in most often.

Fiber and composite molds

Decorative and ornamental forms

Engineering parts

Hard-to-find or obsolete custom parts

Prototype parts and master models

Fixtures, gauges and assembly aids

Master molds for resin or silicone casting

Covers, housings and panel forms

Restoration and spare parts

Validation molds before a small series

Stage 2

Fiber and composite molds

A fiber mold carries the surface the laminate sits on. Curves, channels and joints need to be clear in the tool before lay-up starts.

For composite covers, ducts, panels or shells, the mold sets surface quality and tolerance. This process is not auto-priced online; the file and use note go to review.

Stage 3

Decorative, engineering and custom parts

Decorative work cares about surface and repeatability. Engineering molds are for form, fit trials or short runs. Metal load and tight tolerance still belong on CNC or print when that is the honest path.

Hard-to-find parts often start from a sample, a scan or measured geometry. The goal is a working copy or adaptation, not an invented stock item.

Stage 4

Prototype, master and small series

A prototype mold is not an injection tool. It is for trying form, joints and appearance, or casting a few resin or silicone parts from a master.

Small quantities often start in print or milling. Molding enters when quantity and material make the tool worthwhile.

Stage 5

How quoting works

Mold work does not close on a gram or chip-removal line. Describe use, material and quantity, upload STL or STEP when you can, and an engineer marks a reviewed quote.

  • Note the use case and quantity
  • Add photos of a sample if you have one
  • Series injection tooling is not promised on this page

Questions

Do you make fiber molds?

Yes. Fiber and composite lay-up tools are scoped around demolding direction and surface need. Quotes come after review.

Decorative molds?

Yes, for motifs and forms that must repeat. Quantity and surface expectation set the quote.

Can you mold a hard-to-find part?

If there is a sample, measurement or file, we evaluate a mold or direct production path. We do not invent missing stock.

Is there an automatic mold price?

No. Molding is reviewed from the file and use note. Automatic pricing today is for large-format FDM.

Is this injection tooling?

No. This page covers fiber, prototype, custom-part and similar mold work. Series injection is not a published process.
