Choosing a material for CNC machining
Get a quotePicking the strongest alloy first makes parts slow and expensive. Write the load, then the environment, then the tolerance band.
Aluminum 6061 is a usual prototype start. 6082 shows up often in European stock. 7075 is stronger and slower to cut; most brackets do not need it. See 6061 and 7075.
S235 belongs near welded frames, not automatically on a bearing face. C45 is a more controlled carbon steel. Heat treatment is not priced by the automatic engine; note it for review.
304 and 316 are for corrosion. Their machinability factor makes the same removal volume take longer. That factor is an editable placeholder, not a machine catalogue.
POM is a frequent choice for plastic bushings. PA6 absorbs moisture. ABS is a toughness choice. Chips can melt; that becomes a review reason.
Stock form changes cost. If we do not know the exact bar, the blank is the bounding box plus allowance, and the line says so.
